An Italian carved wooden figure of Mary Magdalene, 1st half of the 18th centuryFinely carved in lime wood. Expressive half-length portrait of Mary Magdalene, probably originally painted in colour. The subject garbed in a flowing robe with extravagant folds, from which some of her curls have escaped, her left hand held gracefully aloft. Restored here and there, several cracks, the back with worm damage and major knocks. Height 60 cm. On an old, softwood pedestal, painted green and red.Condition: II -
