An Italian corseque, circa 1530

Broad, conically tapering blade with a strong midrib on both sides. Two curved flukes to the sides with reinforced tips and midrib. Slightly conical, faceted socket with two strap-hooks. Later-replaced octagonal oak haft. Length 239 cm.
