An Italian neo-classical bronze statue of a dancing

Patinated bronze with finely chased details. A depiction of a faun wearing a lion's skin and sandals, banging two cymbals in his hands. A tree trunk to his left. On a rectangular plinth. Height 71 cm. Modelled on the dancing faun in the collection of the Uffizi in Florence. Unlike the antique painting, in which the dancer is shown unclothed, a lion's skin was added to this version, adapting it to suit the prudish tastes of the 19th century.
