An Iznik earthenware tile

Fritware, glazed white, underglaze decoration in two shades of blue, turquoise, with iron red in light relief and black outlines. With a central spiralling tendril motif surrounded by halfed palmettes and pomegranates. Chips to the edges, one 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm gap in the glaze, craquelure. 25.8 cm x 25.5 cm x 1.9 cm.
Turkey, around 1560 - 70.
