With curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, hilt comprising guard downcurved at the rear and with two triangular piercings, knuckle-guard en suite and hooked into the pommel, the latter formed as a lion's head, side-guard (probably a working life addition) of three rivetted bars each slightly swelling at the centre, converging at the top and hooked into the pommel, and spirally-grooved leather-covered grip bound with silver ribbon between silver wire, in original leather scabbard (locket missing) tooled over half its length on one side and retaining its silver chape
