An Oribe platter. Mino province. Mid-Edo period
With an everted rim, the body covered with a beige-coloured glaze displaying various gourds, a stylized plum blossom and a water wheel(?) in iron-brown, and two large areas covered by a bottle green overglaze, patterns in iron-brown to the reverse. Gold lacquer repair to the outside rim. Wooden box with paper label reading Oribe hyôtan mon ôzara.
