An aquamarine and diamond brooch, early 20th century
Centering a step-cut aquamarine bordered by two removable clip-brooches, set with circular-cut diamonds.

Aquamarine of medium greenish-blue saturation, with some surface reaching inclusions and wear to facet edges, measuring approximately 41 x 25 x 14mm, weighing approximately 101 carats. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 5.00 – 5.50 carats. Scratches and areas of tarnish consistent with age and wear. Overall good condition. Total gross weight approximately 47.5 grams.

Probably a wedding gift from Lord Edward and Lady Adelaide ‘Dodo’ Guinness, later 1st Earl and Countess of Iveagh to Lady Marjorie Manners in 1912.
