An attractive Egyptian alabaster alabastron
An attractive Egyptian alabaster alabastron, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, a popular perfume bottle in the Eastern Mediterranean at the time. This vessel is thin-walled and carved from translucent banded stone with lug handles and a wide, flat rim. H: 6 ¼ in (15.8 cm). A very attractive piece assembled from several original fragments and completed with significant restoration. Ex collection of Karl Jakob Muller, Germany, acquired 1950-1977.
