An attractive Egyptian steatite scarab, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with well-carved body and legs, on base a vulture with outstretched wings above a central Kheper which in turn is flanked by uraei and ankhs. 15 mm. Light deposits, holed lengthwise for suspension. Ex Michigan private collection acquired in the mid-1980's from Ancient World Arts, New York.
