An attractive Jalisco figure of a seated man, West Mexico, c. 200 BC - AD 350, hand-modeled with elongated head and prominent nose. He wears large ear ornaments with wrapped fabric around his shoulders, right hand on his enlarged belly. Two holes through shoulder, perhaps for suspension. H: 4 1/2 in (11.3 cm), Light deposits. Ex Petersen family collection acquired in Munich, Germany, 1965-1972, thence by descent.
