An attractive Near Eastern bronze bowl
An attractive Near Eastern bronze bowl, c. 1000 - 600 BC, showing an ancient repair. The bowl is fashioned from sheet bronze with central omphalos bordered by grooves, the rim slightly flared. The bowl is nicely patinated and shows a rectangular patch on the outside fastened with rivets which covers a small hole. Dia: 5 3/8 in (13.7 cm). Ex Appleton Museum of Art, Florida.
