An early 20th century 14ct gold opal necklace, with seed pearl spacer trace-link chain.Principal opal estimated dimensions of 18.8 by 14.3 by 3.5mms.Length of pendant 5.3cms. Wearable length of chain 39cms. 5.2gms.
Condition Report: Seed pearls untested for natural origin.
Seed pearls are a greyish silvery white. Varied lustre. Varied wear, few show significant wear.
Opals have a light grey body colour. Opals appear well matched in colours with reddish orange, green and blue hues predominating. Smaller opal appears slightly brighter colours.
Clasp stamped 9ct.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
