An early 20th century 14ct gold sapphire and diamond
An early 20th century 14ct gold sapphire and diamond hinged bangle. The cushion-shape sapphire and old-cut diamond cluster, with similarly-cut diamond line sides. Sapphire weight 1.90cts. Estimated total diamond weight 2 to 2.50cts. Austrian marks. Inner diameter 6.1cms. Weight 26.5gms.
Condition Report: Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
Some soft solder visible to the safety chain attachment, possible repair.
Diamonds well matched.
Diamonds bright.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
Diamonds with some small light, dark and feather inclusions under 10x magnification. Some appear to be surface reaching. One of the cluster diamonds appears to have a shallow chip to one side.
Sapphire is a medium violet blue hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
Sapphire in good condition with minor abrasions.
Diameter of cluster 1.4cms.
