An early 20th century 15ct gold split pearl and enamel pendant, with chain.

An early 20th century 15ct gold split pearl and enamel pendant. The split pearl cluster, atop a green guilloche enamel disc, with black dotted white enamel and seed and split pearl scalloped surrounds, suspended from a hinged surmount and later trace-link chain. Length of pendant 3cms. Length of chain 44.5cms. Total weight 8.9gms. Purchasing information Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Pendant has been made up from a larger piece of jewellery.

Green panel is slightly loose. Pearls are replacements.

Split pearls creamy white, with typical surface features. Width of pendant 2.5cms.

Chain width 1.8mms. Pendant tests as 15ct gold.

Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
