An early 20th century Anglo - Indian unmarked silver
An early 20th century Anglo - Indian unmarked silver gilt three-piece tea service, Kashmir circa 1900 Raj period, comprising a teapot, a milk jug, and a sugar bowl. Each modelled after a kangri basket, of globular form upon a pierced trumpet foot simulating basket weave and an open work rim. The teapot with a curved spout opposite a C scroll handle modelled as a serpent, with a saddle thumbpiece. The gently domed hinged lid centred with a finial formed as a coiled serpent. Each with deep chased decoration in chinar leaf pattern. (3) Teapot length – 23 cm / 9 inches Teapot height – 14 cm / 5.5 inches Weight – 894 grams / 28.74 ozt
