An early 20th century French Art Deco 18 carat gold and enamel compact, Paris circa 1925 maker mark mistruck possibly by Henri Lavabre for Cartier
Of circular form the lid with stand-away hinge. The exterior with white opaque and black enamel in ‘earth’ pattern. Push button release as a collet set rose cut diamond, the interior with mirror. Marked to the base plate and base flange with the French guarantee mark for third standard (750/1000) used from 1919, makers mark, and engraved “Cartier Paris, Londres, New York” to base flange.
