An early 20th century Indian Colonial silver photograph frame, Calcutta circa 1930 by Hamilton and Co of rectangular form with an arched pediment, plain front with a silver gilt and applied boss of two soldiers either side of the star of India, with crossed flag of Indian below a coronet. Wooden easel back, glazed. Marked to the side with H&CoL, Elephant and SILVER, the retaining mounts to back marked with either H&CoL or SILVER (probably used 1926-37), the back of frame branded Hamilton and Co, Jewellers and Silversmiths, Calcutta, Delhi and Simla, with the Royal appointment. Outer dimensions – 25 cm / 9.9 inches x 15.6 cm x 6.1 inches Aperture dimensions – 19.9 cm / 7.6 inches x 12 cm / 4.75 inches
