An early 20th century gold white enamel, demantoid garnet and old-cut diamond wreath brooch. Length 2.7cms. 2.1gms.
Condition Report:
- Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- One of the bars, near the clasp end, is split through. Durability does not appear impaired but it may require attention.
- Enamel in generally good condition with light abrasion.
- Diamonds bright and well matched.
- Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Demantoid garnets in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
- Metal tests as approximately 14ct gold.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
