An early Edwardian silver dish, the fluted oval form with embossed and shaped border of flowers, scroll motifs and diaper pattern, enclosing further foliate scrolls to a plain centre. Hallmarked J & J Maxfield Ltd., Sheffield 1901. Maximum length 12.25" (31cm), weight 11.38 ozt (354 grams).
Condition Report:
- Appears quite dull and tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish.
- Residues of old polish visible.
- Overall displaying some surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and general use.
- Minor knocks around outer edge and some heavier scuffed marks around the rim of base.
- Hallmarks clear and legible with some light rubbing. Maker's mark a little distorted.
