An early German military matchlock gun with bronze
Two-stage bronze barrel, octagonal then round and slightly tapered, with cannon muzzle. Smooth bore in 15 mm calibre. One-piece sight, at the breech struck master’s mark. Iron matchlock, the surfaces slightly pitted with distinct age patina. Angular pan, the swivelling lid possibly well-replaced. Screw-mounted trigger guard decorated with cut balusters. Simple walnut stock with distinctly curved butt, remnants of blackening. Length 100 cm.
