An early Victorian small silver salver, the raised foliate, shell and scroll border enclosing a band of floral and leafy scrolls to a plain centre, and raised on three similarly decorated splay feet, Hallmarked John Samuel Hunt, London 1839. Maximum diameter 9.5" (24cm), weight 16.3 ozt (507 grams).
Condition Report:
- Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some expected surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Surface wear and rubbing to decoration causing loss of detail to some areas.
- Some knocks and cracks visible around the outer edge, and also a seam line.
- Also knocks to feet and a couple of breaks at joins.
- Some possible repairs around rim and feet.
- Stands firm on its feet.
- Hallmarks located to the underside of the raised border. Some rubbing and lion passant partly obscured but all still legible.
- Also numbered 280. With some scratched numbers and marks.
