An exceptional Meissen porcelain tureen with chinoiseries and merchant navy scenes
Oval vessel with scroll handles and original lid with a pine cone finial painted with chinoiserie figures on brackets. The tureen decorated with merchant scenes in gilt edged quartrefoil surrounds amid arabesques and trelliswork. Blue crossed swords mark. The handles restored. H with lid 10, W 18, D 10 cm.
Circa 1730 – 35, decor attributed to Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt and Christian Friedrich Herold.
