An illuminated Dala'il al-Khayrat, copied by Hafiz Osman, Turkey, Ottoman, dated 1161 AH/1748 AD

Arabic manuscript on paper, 78 leaves plus 2 fly-leaves, 13 lines to the page written in neat black naskh script, verses separated by polychrome and gold rosettes, titles in red, ruled in gold, black and red, illuminated floral marginal devices, catchwords, opening illuminated headpiece, double-page gouache illustration of Mecca (f.11b) and Medina (f.12a), a further illuminated headpiece, in stamped leather binding

17 by 11.5cm.

Condition Report:
In overall fair condition, the edges of the folios are slightly scuffed, minor tears and small losses to paper at edges and corners, a few small repairs, minor areas of discolouration, slight smudging but the text is overall clear and legible, minor loss to pigments, colours are strong and vibrant, some wear to binding, as viewed.
