Arabic manuscript on paper, 366 leaves, 14 lines to the page written in elegant naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, gilt roundels decorated with blue and red dots, inner margins ruled in red, blue and gold, catchwords, illuminated pear-shaped devices in margins, sura headings written in thuluth script in gold on illuminated rectangular panels, illuminated frontispiece and headpiece in colours and gold, some later illumination added in the Qajar period, corners slightly thumbed, otherwise in good condition, late Qajar lacquer binding in the style of Razi, covers richly decorated with arabesques, vegetal and floral motifs in colours and gold, doublures decorated with a vegetal border on a red ground
