gouache heightened with gold and silver on paper, with narrow silver border, black rules, wide red margins with large single flowering plants, inscribed on the reverse at upper right in devanagari script ''...madhumadhavi'', further inscribed in nasta'liq script ''ragini madhu...''

painting 23.5 by 15.2cm; leaf 25 by 17.5cm.

Condition Report:
Hinged to mount along upper edge, the left edge is slightly trimmed with very minor losses to paper, the corners with handling marks and some rubbing to the gold decoration, the painting in overall good condition, minor areas of staining, the pigments are strong with minor loss, some rubbing to architectural details, some craquelure visible to the silver-grey dress of the lady on the left, silver pigment with tarnish, the reverse with some discolouration along the edges, as viewed.
