An impressive pair of Regency silver four-light candelabra, each on a shaped circular base rising to a knopped baluster stem, the removable upper section with three foliate scroll branches leading to circular drip-pans, baluster sockets and removable nozzles, elaborately cast and chased throughout with scrolls, flowers, foliage and rocaille motifs and figural representations of the Four Elements - lions, dolphins, eagles and dragon's heads, each central stem also having a removable finial further modelled as an eagle. Main sections hallmarked London 1812, with maker's marks for J W Story & W Elliott and William Pitts. Maximum height inclusive of eagle measuring 20 1/4 inches (51.5 cm), gross weight 384 ozt (11,973 grams).
