An interesting framed set of ancient bronze weapons
An interesting framed set of ancient bronze weapons, c. 1200 - 600 BC. Group includes an ancient impressive sword blade, Eastern Mediterranean, with wide midrib and short tang with curves end, L: 22 ¼ in (55.9 cm), a wonderful dagger with modernly fabricated stippled handle, L: 12 ½ in (31.7 cm), a well-preserved bronze spear blade, L: 8 ¼ in (21 cm), and a pair of bronze arrow points, L: 4 7/8 in (12.3 cm) & 4 ¼ in (10.7 cm). Also included is a Roman bronze spatula, c. 1st - 4th Century AD, with flattened end, L: 4 7/8 in (12.3 cm), and a strand of Egyptian faience beads, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, comprised of nice multicolored examples. The entire group if mounted by twisted wire to a lovely frame with green cloth backing and brass display plaque which reads 'Weapons are battlefield pick-ups from Luristanian (Persia) invasion of Egypt 1600 - 1700 BC. Mummy bead are from same era. Surgical tool is 1st Century BC Roman'. Frame measures 28 ½ x 21 ½ in (72.1 x 54.4 cm). Ex Florida private collection.
