At an early age the English photographer David Redfern (1936–2014) specialized in images of the masters of music and throughout his 45 years long career he portrayed Count Basie, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and many others. In 1980 the crooner Frank Sinatra chose Redfern to be his official tour photograph.
