When Brigitte Bardot was around 40 she changed her life entirely and started to focus on animal protection. In 1986 - with this cause in mind - she sold most of her jewellery and founded the organization La Fondation Brigitte Bardot. In 1987 she donated the rights to her memoirs to the same cause. When she reached 80 in 2014 she stated: “I gave my youth and my beauty to the men. Now I will dedicate my attention to the animals. I wish no tribute, only contributions to my foundation”.
