An ovoid Satsuma lidded jar. Kyoto. Late 19th century

Painted in enamels and gold with two large reserves filled with ladies and children in a landscape, on a ground of dense flowers including chrysanthemums. The lid with a shishi knob. Signed Dai Nihon Kyôto tôjiki gôshigaisha Ryôzan zô.
