£42

An unusual 925 silver reversible swivel ring from the Dominican Republic, set to one side with an oval larimar cabochon displaying attractive pale blue mottled colouration, the central setting swivelling to reveal a translucent reddish-brown amber cabochon to the reverse. The double-band silver shank allowing the stone setting to rotate between the two sides, with decorative bead detail to the shoulders. Stones approximately 11mm x 8mm, stamped 925, ring size Q.
Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, particularly around the Barahona region, and is prized for its distinctive pale blue and turquoise colouring. The Dominican Republic is also renowned for its amber, formed from fossilised tree resin and often noted for its exceptional clarity and rich honey, red and occasionally blue tones. The pairing of larimar and amber in this reversible ring is therefore particularly appropriate, bringing together two gemstones strongly associated with the Dominican Republic.
