Date: Mid 19th century
Movement: Large going barrels for time and striking wound by male key, end capped trains, platform cylinder escapement with plain three arm balance, fine visible polished steel rack striking work planted on recessed front plate, striking on a bell mounted between the plates, base concealing separately wound cylinder musical movement playing on demand by button in base molding
Dial: Held by a bracket in front of the striking work, finely pierced with trefoils, molded bezel enclosing roman chapters on individual white enamel plaques, blued trefoil hands
Case: Molded base raised on tapered block feet, supporting plain corner columns and beveled glass side panels, knopped handle
Size: 9 in (23cm) high including handle
