About the artist:
Painter of feelings, encounters, freedoms and colors. Anaïs grew up in Normandy, by the water. Self-taught, the only artistic soul in the family and in search of meaning, his artistic journey began at a very young age.
Anaïs is pursuing studies in information and communication sciences, where she carries out various research projects on different forms of encounters (romantic and cultural) . Encounters will always remain at the center of his art: questioning the meaning of encounters, with others but also with oneself.
In 2018, his desire to create quickly transformed into a compelling need to transpose his feelings and explore the mechanism of his creative consciousness.
Painting becomes the ideal medium to express (and not illustrate) the feelings, movements, emotions and experiences that pass through it, in its contrasts and its depths. A way too, to express this global, affective, intuitive, dazzling thought.

Creative process:
the ultrablack waves
This series of black paintings is in dialogue with the ultramarine blue, Majorelle. At the same time, Anaïs LF is producing her series on poetic mountains, dedicated to the Atlas Mountains and the world of Majorelle.
The black waves structure the smooth and shiny texture, constituting changing interlacings composed of furrows. Like Soulages, it is an expression of black, as “unique black”, with differences in texture, smooth, thick, calm, tense or agitated. These curves capture or reject light and at the same time give rise to gray blacks, brown blacks or deep blacks.
“I don’t paint black for black’s sake, but for contrasts.
Next to black, white, brown or even blue become more white, brown and blue. »
Anaïs’ art remains above all a way of thinking about encounters as spaces of freedom. Indeed, his paintings are above all a means of encounters between gift, sharing and reappropriation.
