Ancestor Tablet Dated 1903 - Gilt lacquered wood - China - Guangxu (1875-1908)

Rare and large ancestor tablet with extremely fine carving and interesting inscriptions. Front: ‘To my recently passed away mother whose maiden name was Yeh and was married to the golden lord Wang. There is also the description of offerings like pig’s liver, glass noodle, chicken, dried tofu snd bean sprout. And there is a date: Ching-Ming festival (tomb sweeping day) in the 29th year of emperor Guangxü, April 6th 1903. On the back there is information about the father who was born in 1814 and died in 1893 and the mother who was born in 1823 and died in 1888. Rare item that must have belonged to an important family. The hardwood piece can be de-attached and is in very good condition with only minor age wear. Will be packed securely and shipped registered and insured.
