LARGE CHINESE BRONZE MIRROR 'LION AND VINE' FROM THE TANG DYNASTY
Silver tinned bronze mirror The back is cast in relief, in the center a dome-shaped protuberance pierced for fixing, surrounded by two circles of buttons. The miron is decorated with a circular frieze alternating salamanders (baffie, lebraude legendary reptile not to be confused with the real amphibian) and vine leaves. The bronze has a green and silver gray patina.
Excellent state of conservation - oxidation from use - Diameter 10. 4 cm.
Highlighted by an elegant plexiglass support.
