C. 386 - 534 AD A ceramic rectangular brick decorated to the centre with a high relief image of the goddess Kwan Yin with pointed nimbus to the back of the head, hair pulled up into a top-knot. Wearing green and red long robes falling to the feet in a series of folds It was during the Northern Wei dynasty that Buddhism was introduced to China. An introduction which rooted itself firmly in the cultural fabric of China.
