Ancient Cypriot Handled Jug

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Late Cypriot Bronze Age, ca. 1550 to 1050 BCE. A wheel-thrown pottery vessel of a lovely form with an apple-shaped body resting atop a squat foot. The rounded shoulder supports the lower terminals of two handles that arch up to the middle of the tapered, cylindrical neck. The highly burnished grooves across the exterior showcase its elegant, uncomplicated form. An attractive example of ancient Cypriot pottery! Size: 5.2" W x 7.8" H (13.2 cm x 19.8 cm)
