[ translate ]

This ushabti figure is depicted as a labourer, as he wields two bundles to work in the fields of Osiris in the Hereafter. He is wearing a short wig from which a braid protrudes on the right side. He wears a curly Osirian beard, ending in a tight forward curve. From his mummiform shroud, which covers his entire body, only his hands, crossed over his chest, hold the aforementioned agricultural tools.

On the body there is a vertical register of hieroglyphic writing. This horizontal inscription translates: “May the Osiris be enlightened, Baka, righteous of voice”.

Provenance: Dr. L. Benguerel Godó Collection, Barcelona, acquired in London in 1960 / Archaeological Gallery, Spain, 2015

Exhibited: Ifergan Collection, Málaga (2018-2020)
