Ancient Egypt, Ptolemaic Terracotta Figure of Harpocrates

Egyptian terracotta figure of Harpocrates, depicted as a youth, wearing a large crown, holding his finger on his lips and leaning on a column. Harpocrates is the son of Isis and Horus and symbolizes the constant renewal. The deity’s headpiece comprises two feathers of the Egyptian goddess Maat, the personification of the concepts of truth, harmony and justice, and between them the sun disk, which connects the deity with the sun god Ra, along with Sokar, Ptah and Osiris. Height: 11,5 cm (exclusing base) Condition: Good solid condition, very nice details. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. See images. Provenance: acquired on Dutch Art fair 2021 from the collection of Mr. W. R. Germany, previously from old Rhenish collection acquired in the 1960's. Certificate of Authenticity available upon request (pdf-format) . The seller guarantees this piece is acquired in a legal manner. Related documents seen by Catawiki.
