Material: Bronze Object: cat Dimensions: 12 × 8 × 5 cm Century / period: late period to Ptolemaic period, ca. 664-30 BC Condition: matching with the age A finely cast bronze statue of a seated cat with its front legs together, its tail bent forward on the right side, with the tip extending past the legs, the small head with an angular jawline. Late period to Ptolemaic period, ca. 664-30 BC Dimensions: height (with stand) 12 cm; height (of the statue) 8 cm; length 5 cm Very good condition with a nice dark green patina with traces of copper. References: an almost identical cat statue was sold at Christie's New York - antique sale - June 8, 2012 - lot 20 for $13,750. It's installed on a wooden base. Provenance information: Bought by the current owner in Belgium in 29-04-2019. From: Kim J. Nazzi via Catawiki lot 25848529 Provenance: private collection (BE) , collected by the ancestors in the early 1930s.
