- Khnum is a god from Egyptian mythology. He is mainly depicted with the head of a ram with horns. This reflects the age of his cult, as it depicts the oldest breed of sheep domesticated in Egypt (Ovis longipes) . Chnum is associated with the soul or personality.

- See last picture as a parallel: https: //www. metmuseum. org/art/collection/search/547771

- Referring to Ancient Egyptian texts, carnelian, because of its fiery colour, was often associated with the blood-lust and rage of Egyptian deities. Furthermore, carnelian was also closely connected to the sun god, Re. It was a stone used often in jewellery for sun disks and to represent the eye of Horus.
