Very nice Amulet of Udjad / Udjat, The Eye of Horus. - huge - The Eye of Horus amulet is also known as Uzat or ‘Wedjat’, meaning “Whole One”. It is a symbol of protection and was used to deflect evil, as well as believed to have healing powers. The Uzat eye’s represent the two eye’s of Horus as he was a sun and moon deity therefore, his right eye was the sun, and the left was the moon. Ancient Egpyt, Third Intermediate Period - Late Period, 1070 - 323 BC 32 mm L. Blue Faience. Good colour and intact. Provenance: Private collection, E. S. , England, acquired before 1970-1980.
