In this lot two ancient Egyptian amulets: I. The figure of Thoureris, the benevolent protectress of fertility and childbirth. Depicted with the head of a hippopotamus, standing upright, the tail of a crocodile and the claws of a lion. Mounted on a wooden base with title ‘The goddess Thoueris’. Height: 38 mm Width: 10 mm Depth: 14 mm (Ex base) II. The figure of the Hawks, wearing plumes, Sacred to Horus. Mounted on a wooden base with title ‘Hawks, wearing plumes, Sacred to Horus. Height: 25 mm Width: 8 mm Depth: 15 mm (Ex base) XXIInd Dynasty. About B. C. 1000. The amulets are in fine condition, both mounted on a wooden 1920s collectors base with inked title. Both amulets came from a Dutch private estate, bought at Mieke Zilverberg, Amsterdam. The Seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally , provenance statement seen by Catawiki.
