A male gesso face mask with wavy hair and a fringe of curls, applied black pigment detailing to the eyebrows, eyes and nostrils, red to the lips; palla headcovering to the rear of the head with red and green painted ornament; mounted on a custom-made stand. Ancient Egypt, Roman Period, 30 BC - 323 AD. Material: Stucco and pigments. Size: 37 cm Heigh with stand. 28 cm Height without stand and, 19 cm depth. Provenance: Private collection, Tarragona, Spain. Before private German collection fo a gentleman. Acquired in 2008 from Aton Gallery, Paderborn, Germany; formerly in a German private collection since the early 1980s. Stand display included. Condition: Fine condition, intact, original colours. Notes: The seller guarantees that he acquired this piece according to all national and international laws related to the ownership of cultural property. Provenance statement seen by Catawiki. The seller will take care that any necessary permits, like an export license will be arranged, he will inform the buyer about the status of it if this takes more than a few days. According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense.
