Very rare sarcophagus panel presenting the goddess Nephtys, standing, wearing a crown formed by two hieroglyphics used to write her name. This sarcophagus panel is stuccoed and painted with red and black pigments. Nephtys was the sister of Isis and the wife of the god Seth. She was the protective goddess of the dead watching over the sarcophagus Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC Dimensions: 27. 1 cm x 9. 2 cm. Dimensions of the frame: 40 x 18 cm. Purchased by the present owner in 2021 in France. From: France, Galerie O. C. E. Former history: collected since 1970. Former history: Old private collection built-up in the 1970s The seller can prove that the lot was acquired legally, the declaration of provenance was seen by Catawiki.
