Ancient Egyptian Terracotta Amphora with Rams, Shrines and Greek Serapis Figures - 56×29×29 cm

An exquisite rare and tall Greco-Egyptian terracotta amphora on a single foot. Decorated with eight images around the base. Featuring four rams with roped necks, two shrines with the depiction of the goddesses Neith and Isis, with Horus-Harpocrates in between. Two interesting Serapis figures, each with a raised hand and lifted leg, wearing a draping cloth and a distinguished headdress. Exceptional large ancient Egyptian artifact with Greek influences. Ca. 332 BC, Ptolemaic Dynasty. Weight: 5,5 kg. Condition: Restored, stable and solid. Foot and mouth remodeled. Generally in decent condition. Provenance: The supplier warrants that is has obtained this lot in a legal manner. The object comes from a Dutch private collection. The base contains an original stamp. Bought by the current owner on 14-02-2019 at Colijnsplaat, The Netherlands of miss J. v. D. R. before that part of an old Dutch collection from Rotterdam. Shipment will take place after consultation with the buyer. Packed with care. Accompanied by a statement of provenance. Registered and insured shipment with track and trace.
