Ancient Egyptian Wood Important Canopic Jar Lid of Imsety. New kingdom period. Very Fine quality. 14 cm H.

Egyptian canopic jar lid with the human head of Imsety, son of Horus. -nice face profile - Wood, pitch, stucco and yellow pigment. - it's the same material and art of the sarcophagus and canopic jar box of Tuya and Yuya (see lasts photos) - Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th - 19th Dynasty, 1550 - 1186 BC. Very fine example beautifully carved. He is wearing a tripartite wig, leaving the ears exposed, and has a short beard. The eyes and eyebrows are executed in fine relief. Much of the original polychromy is preserved. The short beard and the wig are outlined in light blue, the eyes and eyebrows outlined in black. The irises of the eyes are marked in red. The face and ears are painted yellow. Dimensions: 14 cm Height. 12,50 cm diameter. Condition Report: Intact. Original condition. Exceptionally well preserved.
