DESCRIPTION: The discus modelled in relief with head of Herakles on wearing the lion skin, a tall spout and out-turned rim, a side loop handle, with ribbing around the shoulder of the vessel, set on a short ring base. A guttus is a type of Greek flask characterized by its narrow neck, which was used to pour oil during meals. In the central are we see a mythological scene in relief depicting the hero Bellerophon, or possibly Pegasus, mounted on a horse and killing an Amazon.
