Ancient Greek Core-Formed Glass Amphoriskos

Core-formed glass amphoriskos, circa 8th to 10th century, with ovoid body tapering to a point at the base, flat rim, and twin loop handles; the aubergine glass matrix ornamented in opaque pale blue and red, with a band of yellow around the rim. 5.375" H. Acquired prior to 1979, removed from a 936 5th Avenue estate.
