Large Greek jug in glazed ceramics. The body is in the shape of a keeled spindle, the neck forming a cone. The lip is flat, then folded vertically. It is connected to the body by a pretty raised cove. The body is dilated, the grooves formed of large incised streaks. Black varnished beige terracotta. Height 21. 2 cm Campania, Greek colonies in southern Italy, around the 5th/4th century BC. In perfectly preserved condition - intact - no restoration Information regarding the origin: Purchased by the present owner in October 2019 in Germany from: M. . . . Auction Haus, lot N°1833. Former history: old private German collection built-up in the 1970s. The seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally, declaration of provenance seen by Catawiki.
